Confidence, Sometimes I don't haz it.
Yeah, as much as I would like to think that I have grown up, gained knowledge, become better, smarter, the similarities to the past are still stark. I have never been the most confident person. I have always been uncomfortable with parts of my life, (weight, general looks, overall likability) , I used to make up for it with bitchiness and lock my feelings away into a place that access was limited. Then I made a conscious decision to be a better, nicer person and it seems that have lost some of my self confidence along the way. I guess life is all about the road to self improvement. It has always been a struggle for me to do some things that are second nature to others, and I also get nervous and seem to loose my words under pressure. I can't seem to express myself the way I used to, then it was so effortless and now, not so much. I am always so worried about the opinions of others. I just have to find the energy and patience to keep plugging away. Also here is a photo of a pensive fox. Goodnight.

Happy New Year!
So, I have decided to use this thing, as I should at the very least be productive as I am on the internet looking at crap all the time. I read blogs, look at home design, craft design and tons of things I wish I could have. Well enough is enough. 2012 is the year I really get off my ass and make things work for me. I am always so self conscious about everything I do and say and it has really been holding me back in more than one way. I did some really cool things I had never done before in 2011 so at least there was that. I hope to continue to improve, and to strive to not be a lazy internet potato and to get up and get the things I want. My house may never look like the ones in martha stewart magazine and I may never be the best at sewing or knitting, but I at least should enjoy myself and give it a shot.
My new years eve flowers for the kitchen table. Evie loves to smell them and say "Ahhh!" |
I also made some curtains for my sewing studio. Ikea fabric is the best for home dec. Love it. |

DS quilts fabric
Is super awesome. That is all I can say. I did this butterick pattern with it and it turned out pretty good. The pattern it's self was written with a ton of ease and I had to take it in over four inches after it was all done. The skirt part also falls in a weird place too, due to the wide waistband. I still like it and for ten dollars I really can't complain. Other than that nothing has been going on except for completely uncalled for stresses. I tried to make a roasted chicken today and I cooked it forever and it was still bleeding it the middle when I pulled it out. Damn zombie chickens! Seriously.... Oh and blogger is super screwing up right now..... so I'm gonna go.

Time Management, Sewing and Family life
Soooo, it has been over two months, it seems as if my household time management goal is going right out the window. I am good at work but then I get home and WHAM! Everything needs to be done and I just don't know where to start. So, I have decided now is the time to get serious about this. We have a house now and there is 10 times more to take care of plus Evie is getting more active everyday! I can't believe that she is almost 2 years old. It feels like life is flying past me and I just can't keep up. Plus, we all have colds. That part is super lame. I also finished sewing a dress this week, I was a simplicity pattern I got for a dollar and the fabric was 50% off at Joanns. I could never resist a good deal. Here is a crap cell phone photo of me in the dress. I am also pretty sure I am making a face or blinking. Just ignore that...well, I hope to post again soon so that I can keep on my way to a better, nicer, more fun life!

Cookies!!!
So, we tried the Betty Crocker GF cookie mix and it was yummy! The reason behind buying it was the fact that Evie is almost two and never had a homemade cookie.
Needless to say she scarfed it. :) Her cheeks have been so rosy, from being sick, but I think she is finally getting over the hump.
I went to the craft show up here and everything was so ugly!! Aboveallfabric.com had the best booth there (They have lots of good stuff and great prices and great selection) and I found some very coveted Parisville by Tula Pink there. They even had the Anna Maria Horner fabric I am in LOVE with.
I also got this awesome oliver + s pattern and I can't wait to make it.
That is really all I have for now!

Slacking, Sewing, Hot Yoga, Sick baby.
That has pretty much been the schedule up to now. Torchwood watching should really be added to that. I am really loving this instant netflix thing Thomas got us for christmas. My poor DVR has been going unused since I figured out how to use it! I also made the bag up top and hope to make some more soon! I love the coffee pattern. Awesomeness.
So Mark, This is the beginning of your bag.
I want to keep this one for myself but I won't. I made this with my own pattern. The one below is the first one I made. I love the fabric. I bought it from fabricworm.com . She has the best stuff!
I have to sleep some time right? Evie says no. She has had crust nose and been fussy for a couple of days now. Lame. Back to the grindstone, aka my sewing machine.

The New Year
So, we all seem to need goals every year to help motivate us along the road of self-improvement. This year I would like to loose weight (like everyone else ever.) and work on my time management skills. Honestly they just kinda suck right now. I feel like things might actually get done if I am careful about it. Oh, and I would love to finish my novel this year. Anyone else got any good goals for this year because that's all I have for today.
